Juniper Flats is a beautiful open public lands area south of Apple Valley representing a transitional zone between our desert and the San Bernardino mountains. It includes amazing rock formations, an abundance of plant life, canyons, riparian areas which are oases for wildlife, and dirt roads and paths for responsible off-road recreational activities. This outreach event will help increase public awareness on responsible recreation and resource protection. We are very fortunate to have this amazing area available to all residents in the high desert communities.
Directions: From Central Rd. in southern Apple Valley, take Ocotillo Way east to Bowen Ranch Rd. South on
Bowen Ranch Rd. (a dirt road) to Coxey Truck Trail road. Left on Coxey Truck Trail up the hill about a half-mile
to the BLM kiosk.
